Missions at Nations Church exists to extend the love of Jesus outside the four walls of our church through ongoing initiatives to connect with and care for those in need.

Missions Abroad

As a church we sponsor two ‘life centres’ in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, under the banner of ‘Transform Cambodia’, an initiative started by local Perth businessmen.

The centres’ focus is education and the gospel.  Each child in the two centres is sponsored by families or individuals at Nations Church. This partnership gives children the financial means to enrol in their local school, and then attend the centres after school for English and Maths lessons and a meal, as well as mentoring and guidance.

Collectively, both these centres are a $120,000 overseas-missions investment annually by all at Nations Church. A number of times a year we give the opportunity for our church members to visit the centres, participate in the great work that is being done there, and build relationships with our Cambodian family.

Local Missions

Alta 1

Nations Belmont campus hosts an Alta1 School that supports year 10 – 12 students from the community who struggle with aspects of mainstream education. For five days each week some 30 students engage in study, work experience and vocational activities. Two people from the church are employed by Alta1 to work as teachers aides and chaplains to work with the students alongside trained teachers. Volunteers from the church along with Nations Belmont staff also interact with the students and encourage them in their studies and dreams for a better future.

This second chance at education and support in necessary life skills has seen many students graduate and go on to employment or higher level education. Some students are also involved as volunteers in church activities giving back to struggling people within the Belmont community.

Food Distribution

It is so important to us to serve the community in practical ways, by attending to very real needs. That’s why, every Friday of the school term, we run Friday Food Distribution where we distribute fresh fruit, vegies, milk, and other necessities to those in need within our community. Pick-up of these goods happens at our Belmont campus kids auditorium. We also distribute Coles and Telstra vouchers throughout the year. For more information about these services, or to find out who is eligible to receive this service, please give us a call on (08) 9277 2020.

Reach

REACH program is an after-school mentoring program for primary aged children from the suburbs surrounding Nations Church Myaree campus. The program integrates life-skill development and invaluable mentoring in a fun and safe environment. Specifically, children are guided in their learning about literacy, numeracy and nutrition, and are also provided with a healthy and lovingly-prepared afternoon tea.

REACH runs weekly on Wednesday afternoons during the school term. You can find us at the Nations Community Hub, Unit 1/12 Hayden Court, Myaree, from 4pm onwards.

If you would like more information on how to get involved or attend REACH, contact our Nations Kids team by emailing kids@nationschurch.com
